“A calm mind and a strong body. It's my dream.
Where in the world do I start?”
Perhaps you started dreaming about the openness and confidence you’d have with a tuned-up body and mind and promised yourself that this was the year. You’ve imagined what it would be like to have your yoga routine dialed in, your peaceful mind settled, grounded, and relaxed.
And, of course, you’d love to be able to bust out a set of pushups, squat down to play with your kids/grandkids/fur babies, lift heavy-ish things around your house in real life or even do a handstand!
Here’s why most would-be strong mamas abandon their fitness dream:
Beyond the basic body awareness and stretching that is offered in most yoga classes, we are conditioned to think that our bodies just fall apart over time, and the next steps just aren’t that clear. How exactly do you get stronger (even after an injury) and how do you make the space and time for getting on the mat? These fears and logistical stumbling blocks cause so many budding yoginis to put their practices on hold (sometimes forever). Robin Penney’s Slow-Flow + Strength program gives you a step-by-step process for uncovering your exact next step.

Guiding women in their 40s and up on their unique wellness journeys
As a yoga and movement teacher who has been guiding people for over 12 years, I specialize in reinventing your perception of wellness so you can be the strongest and most mindful version of yourself, in every possible way.
My journey as a strength-based yoga teacher began as a result of my long, ineffective, and surprising experience with practicing yoga for many years with an emphasis on only stretching and "going further" into postures. I was disheartened with seeing women in yoga classes going through the same motions, only to end up with little to no relief from chronic aches and pains that stemmed from under-training certain parts of the body. When I discovered the amazing tweaks to the yoga practice associated with functional movement and adding resistance training, it seemed to be exactly what I had been looking for! Not only did building more strength and intelligence in my body lead to falling back in love with the wonderful practice of vinyasa yoga but it also gave me more confidence and mindfulness in my own life. Wanting to make a difference in the lives of women suffering from a lack of self-care and weakening bodies, I launched Slow-Flow + Strength classes, concentrating on building up the body at any age in 2017.
Fast forward six years and I have coached hundreds of women enabling them to embark upon their own journeys in holistic wellness. By rigorously following my personal values of regular practice, trusting the body’s intelligence, and mindful strength-building, I ensure that I’m tailoring my expertise to the spiritual, emotional, and physical goals of every woman.
