Guiding midlife women into calm strength, confident movement, and deeply sustainable routines
I’m Robin Penney — a strength-based yoga and movement coach helping women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond feel capable in their bodies again through strength training, mobility work, and nervous-system-supportive practices.
With over 12 years of teaching experience and a 100-hour Steel Mace Vinyasa certification (earned in 2024), my work blends functional movement, yoga, load, and flow state training into one grounded, accessible approach.
Like many women, I spent years practicing yoga with an almost exclusive focus on stretching and “going deeper.” But for myself and many others, it wasn’t enough. I saw women working hard yet still dealing with tight hips, cranky shoulders, and a sense that their bodies were slowly becoming less reliable.
Everything changed when I discovered functional movement and strength-based training. When I began integrating resistance, better mechanics, and mobility patterns into yoga, my body transformed — I felt stronger, steadier, more grounded, and finally at home in my body again.
I knew other women needed this too.
In 2017, I launched Slow-Flow + Strength to help women build the strength they’d been missing. Six years later, that foundation evolved into my current coaching ecosystem — The Movement Breakthrough and Function + Flow — programs designed to help women train smarter, feel safer in movement, and build routines they can actually maintain.
To date, I’ve coached hundreds of women to tune into their bodies, build strength with integrity, and create movement rhythms that support their real lives — not drain them. My work is rooted in consistency, body intelligence, mindful strength-building, and helping women become the calm, confident leaders of their own wellness.
